Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of draran.online and all services provided by Dr. Aran Castro A J (trading as Dr Aran, a registered MSME unit — Udyam TN-09-0048222, PAN: BCVPA3800L). By using the site or booking a service, you agree to these terms.

1. Services offered

• GIS training and workshops — individual, group, and institutional programmes in GIS, remote sensing, and spatial data science.
• Research consulting — PhD geospatial research support, LULC analysis, shoreline change, CVI assessment, and methods development.
• Faculty Development Programmes (FDPs) — on-site and online workshops for colleges and universities.
• Internship programmes — project-based summer and semester internships.
• Publications — books, PDF eBooks, and research toolkits, distributed through Amazon and via direct download.
• Free resources — downloadable PDFs, lecture notes, and workflow manuals provided in exchange for email subscription.

2. Bookings and payments

2.1 Quotes and invoices

After scope agreement we issue an invoice. Prices are in Indian Rupees (INR) or US Dollars (USD) depending on the service. GST is charged where applicable per Indian tax law.

2.2 Payment methods

We accept UPI, IMPS / NEFT bank transfer, and PayPal. Payment details are provided with the invoice. We do not store card or bank account information.

2.3 Advance and installment

Training and consulting engagements typically require a 40% advance to confirm the booking, with the balance due on delivery. Installment plans are available for PhD research support on request.

3. Refunds and cancellations

• Training / FDP: Refunds are issued only if we cancel the programme. If you cancel with more than 7 days' notice, 75% is refunded. Within 7 days, no refund is issued.
• Consulting projects: Once work has started, the advance is non-refundable. Unused effort is credited against future engagements for up to 12 months.
• Internships: Programme fees are non-refundable once the seat is confirmed. If we cancel a cohort, full refund is issued within 14 days.
• Digital products (toolkits, eBooks): Because these are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, sales are final. If the download fails or the file is corrupt, contact us for a replacement.

4. Internship programme rules

• Internships are offered in-person at the selected campus. Online sessions are not a substitute unless explicitly agreed.
• A valid College Bonafide Certificate is required before enrolment.
• A copy of your Aadhaar Card must be submitted during registration for attendance and certificate purposes.
• The programme fee starts at ₹1,500. Full fee details are confirmed with your seat.
• Attendance of at least 80% is required to receive the Certificate of Completion.
• All project deliverables produced during the internship may be used by Geospatial Campus for portfolio and promotional purposes, with credit to the intern.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this site — including text, images, book covers, PDF toolkits, lecture notes, methodology documents, maps, and code snippets — is the intellectual property of Dr. Aran Castro A J and is protected under the Indian Copyright Act, 1957.

• You may download free PDFs for personal study and classroom reference.
• You may quote brief excerpts with attribution.
• You may not resell, redistribute, mirror, modify, or commercially use our content without prior written permission.
• Paid products are licensed to the purchaser for personal, non-transferable use.

Third-party trademarks (ArcGIS, QGIS, Google Earth Engine, Landsat, etc.) are the property of their respective owners and are used for descriptive purposes only.

6. Delivered work and data

For research consulting and project work, you receive processed data, shapefiles, raster outputs, ArcGIS / QGIS project files, and publication-quality maps on completion. These deliverables are yours to use in your thesis, publications, and institutional reports. Dr. Aran Castro A J retains the right to reference the work anonymously in case studies and teaching materials.

7. Confidentiality

Any data, manuscripts, or unpublished research shared with us for consulting engagements is treated as strictly confidential and used only for the purposes of the engagement. A signed non-disclosure agreement is available on request.

8. Free downloads and waitlists

Free PDF downloads require you to provide a valid email address. By requesting a free download, you agree to receive occasional updates about new toolkits, launches, and research resources. You can unsubscribe at any time from the link at the bottom of any email.

9. Newsletter and communications

Subscribing to the newsletter adds your email to our Mailchimp audience (Geospatial Campus Nagercoil). We send launch announcements, research notes, and occasional offers. We never sell or share the list with third parties.

10. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Submit false or misleading information on any form.
• Use the site to transmit spam, malware, or illegal content.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the site or its infrastructure.
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically download content at a rate that interferes with normal service.

11. Disclaimers

The site and all free resources are provided on an "as-is" basis. While we take care to ensure the accuracy of our training material, workflows, and research outputs, we make no warranty that they are fit for any specific purpose. Use of any methodology or code is at your own risk.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from a paid service is limited to the fee actually paid for that service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of data, loss of revenue, or delayed research timelines.

13. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts at Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest revision. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
